TAT launches official Bangkok street food app

From pad Thai, chicken rice to spicy som tam, a new app which aims to help locals and travellers find the best street food in Bangkok was launched yesterday.

The application, “Street food Bangkok,” by the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Ministry of Foreign Affairs features around 120 food vendors and shops to promote local businesses and boost tourism.

While 120 shops are nothing compared to the thousands of vendors out there, the app does list some of the legendary, must-visit food stalls in Bangkok such as Kong Prap Congee and Si Morakot barbecued and crispy pork.

The shops are listed by locations and menus. The app also links to Google Map to help users track down their future meal.

The app is available for both iOS and Android. The developer also plans to expand the service to tourist provinces such as Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.
