Kanya Sesser, who was born without legs and abandoned by her family on the steps of a temple in Pak Chong, Nakhon Ratchasima, is breaking down the barriers of the beauty world.
Kanya was adopted at the age of five and taken to to live in Portland, US. Now the 23-year-old is a surfer, model, and a motivational speaker, who also makes $1,000 a day doing lingerie shoots. She started modelling sportswear when she was 15 but she found her niche in lingerie.
Modeling is “something fun” that “shows her story,” Kanya said. “I’m different and that is sexy, I don’t need legs to feel sexy … I love showing people what beauty can look like. These images show my strength,” she said.
Kanya, who now lives in Los Angeles, has reportedly modeled for Nike, Rip Curl Girl in the past, and Billabong.
Kanya, who loves extreme sports and uses a skateboard instead of a wheelchair, says her modelling shows how strong she is while also portraying a different side to her, reported the Huffington Post.
If all that wasn’t enough, Kanya is currently training to compete in mono-ski for the US in the Winter Paralympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, in 2018.
