Krabi man rescues mud-stuck tourists, earns online acclaim [VIDEO]

A Krabi fisherman has become the subject of online adoration around Thailand after rescuing two elderly Norwegian tourists who got themselves stuck in thick mud whilst birdwatching.

Watch below:

The selfless hero, 44-year-old Chat Ubonchinda first moved their expensive-looking camera and backpack to safety before literally lying face down in the muck, allowing the man and woman to get a foothold on his back and lift themselves up out of their predicament.

“”The woman was able to climb up easily because she was not that heavy. When it was the man’s turn, I felt some back pain but I can stand it. I didn’t want anything in return. I saw the pair in trouble and my only thought was to help them,” said the fisherman, according to the Bangkok Post.

The Norwegian pair however did reward him for his chivalry and traveled to his house to deliver a cash prize later.

Yay for this guy! Enjoy your Sunday, everyone.
