Bangkok, a city famous for its great food, will host the fourth annual awards ceremony of “Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants,” one of the most prestigious awards in the culinary industry.

The region’s most respected chefs and restaurant owners will gather in the hope their names are called out on Feb. 29, in Bangkok. The event has been held in Singapore for the last three years.

This year, Bangkok’s progressive Indian restaurant “Gaggan” was voted the best restaurant in Asia, while “Nahm” was dethroned from first place to 7th.

One might argue about how subjective it is to judge the deliciousness of food, but there is a lot of dignity and ego on the line as the voters are restaurant experts.
