Crocodile on the loose in Bangkok village, almost eats soi dogs

A woman in Bangkok woke up this morning to find a local soi dog trying to protect her two puppies from a crocodile.

Sawang Napawan, 53, who lives in Soi 44 on Seri Thai road, initially thought “Potato”, the stray dog she feeds, was barking at a thief, but when she went to investigate, Sawang found out it was a full-grown freaking crocodile.

Yes, this is just another case of a wild animal miraculously appearing in the middle of Bangkok and nobody knows where it came from. But in this case it wasn’t something cute and cuddly, it was a crocodile.

At 4am, Sawang promptly woke up all her neighbors and together they captured the crocodile and tied its mouth shut before calling Romsai Rescue Volunteer.

Bueng Kum police commander Suphol Kamchoo said the district has many natural ponds, so it is possible the crocodile came from one of those. Then again, this could be someone’s exotic pet, he said. Police are investigating.

The crocodile will be sent to a research center of the Department of Fisheries, Nation TV reported.

In other news, remember when we had an ostrich sprinting on a street of Bangkok’s outskirt.
