The video of Ariya Kumpilo, owner of a salad joint in Bangkok, proposing to his girlfriend has been viewed over 3 million times in one day and it has officially won the award for this year’s best marriage proposal among Thai netizens — many of whom admitted the act of love made them shed a tear.
Filmed in a resort, Ariya put his girlfriend Ploy in a buggy and told her he’d go “set up a show” for her. Ploy was confused, but she agreed to go along with it.
To Ploy’s surprise, her friends, family, and even Minions appeared and danced before Ariya stopped the show and poured out his heart with messages written on paper signs.
“Ploy, thank you so much for trusting me and deciding to leave something behind and building your life with such an ordinary guy, who’s not all perfect. But as long as I have you by my side, I’m not afraid of anything. You are my willpower, my support and my love. You are the life partner that I thought I could never find. I promise that from now on I’ll make sure you always smile, laugh and be happy. Today’s my birthday, and I just want one thing…”
Then he got down on his knees and said.
“Marry me.”
