The rehearsal of ‘Bike for Dad’ in Lampang province on Nov. 1
Several roads in the central areas of Bangkok including Siam, Silom and Phaya Thai will be temporarily closed next Sunday for the “Bike for Dad” rehearsal which is expected to attract around 100,000 cyclists.
The public is advised to avoid traveling through areas close to the 29-kilometer route on Nov. 29 after 3pm.
The route starts and ends at the Dusit Palace. Cyclists will ride along several roads near the BTS line including Ratchadamri, Rama I, Phaya Thai, and Silom roads before heading to Yaowarat and Ratchadamnoen roads.
Here’s a map to clear up any confusion.
Around 100,000 cyclists in Bangkok alone have registered to participate in the cycling event which will take place on Friday, Dec. 11 to celebrate Father’s Day. The event will be held in 66 provinces across the country. Almost 500,000 cyclists have registered to join the event in other provinces.
