Road closures have been announced for the rehearsals of the funeral procession for His Holiness the Supreme Patriach Somdet Phra Nyanasamvara Somdet Phra Sangharaja.
The 3.6km route from Wat Bowonniwet Vihara to Wat Thepsirin will be closed to traffic from 8am on Sat Dec. 7 and Tue Dec. 10, reported Bangkok Post.
The procession will travel from Phra Sumen Road to Luang Road via Lan Luang Road and Krung Kasem Road.
The funeral of the late Supreme Patriach, Thailand’s longest serving senior Buddhist, will take place on Dec. 15-17.
He died in October 2013 at 100 years old.
The Supreme Patriarch leads Thailand’s Buddhist monks and oversees all orders of the religion in the kingdom.
