Brit, 21, goes missing in Koh Phi Phi

A British man has gone missing in Koh Phi Phi Don after sending his family a message saying sorry he would not see them again.

Jordan Jacobs, 21, was last seen on the island getting a free ride with a Thai man from the mainland, the Telegraph reported.

He then got back in touch with his family saying the Thai man would not allow him to leave.

“Saturday morning my mum received a message via Facebook from my brother which basically said he can never see us again, that he is sorry he can’t see us one last time, that he loved us etc,” his sister Emily told MailOnline.

His mother Debbie urged him to call and he replied by sending a phone number and saying he was scared.

“He was upset and said that the man wouldn’t let him leave. That he was scared of him,” Emily said.

The phone number belonged to a Cypriot tourist, who said the Brit had come up to him in a restaurant without wearing shoes or a bag, and had asked if he could to borrow his phone.

Emily told MailOnline: “There was no more contact until Monday morning where my brother appeared online, and after a few attempts I was able to speak to him on the phone using the Facebook wifi messenger.

“I was on the phone for 90 seconds. He couldn’t or wouldn’t tell me where he was. He said ‘I need to keep you all safe’.

“I asked if he was ok, where he was, and he said “’I’ve said too much. I can’t talk. I love you.’ And that was it. We’ve had no contact since.”

Jordan has been traveling in Asia since November 2014 and was supposed to fly back to the UK today to see his family for Christmas.

His family have issued an appeal asking anyone with information about Jordan or the Thai mainland man to come forward.

“It’s been 4 days since someone last saw my little brother. Please keep sharing and posting, it is helping,” his sister Emily wrote on her Facebook page.

“Any information no matter how small you think it is could be could be huge. Any sightings or potential sightings. Any contact. Anything. We want to have him home safe.”

Jordan is about five foot six inches tall with brown eyes, black hair and tattoos on his arms and his chest. His family say he has grown a beard and got a tan after his time traveling.

The Thai man has been described as being in his late 20s, and was said to be wearing Levi’s jeans, and being dressed in clothes which gave him ‘a cowboy look’.

A Foreign Office spokesman said: “We can confirm that a British national, Jordan Jacobs, was reported missing in Thailand on 12 December 2015. We are providing consular assistance to the family.”
