Thairath bungles Bowie for Bon Jovi

After the shocking and sad news yesterday that legendary rocker David Bowie passed away on Sunday, media outlets all over the world rushed to pay tribute to the Man Who Fell To Earth.

That included Thai newspaper Thairath, who praised the British star as “the singer of the well-known hit ‘It’s My Life’ which is familiar among Thais.”

Um.

Turns out the outlet had confused Bowie with US rocker Jon Bon Jovi, who is very much still alive and well.

Thairath quickly amended their error, but not before furious Facebook users captured screenshots of the post and blasted the newspaper.

One wrote: “It’s my life? Seriously, motherf*cker? If you don’t know, ask someone who knows or Google. There are thousands of answers for you.”

Bowie was 69 and had fought an 18-month battle with cancer.

Let’s take a moment to remember the legend. RIP, you strange beautiful man.
