TV star Por Thridsadee, 37, died after two months in coma

Actor Thridsadee “Por” Sahawong died at just 37 years old this morning after spending two months battling against complications developed from the dengue virus.

Por passed away at 11:50am today after his right lung developed a severe infection and the actor stopped responding to treatment, according to an announcement at 2pm from Ramathibodi Hospital.

Por was admitted to hospital on Nov. 9 after being struck down by dengue fever. He suffered from kidney failure and had his left foot amputated and left lung removed after developing infections. He also underwent colon surgery.

Por became a household name after he was crowned CLEO magazine’s “Most Eligible Bachelor” in 2004. He was widely praised and recognized from his lead performance in the classic lakorn remake “Village headman Lee and Miss Ma” in 2009, which propelled him to super-stardom.
