Activists furious after Chihuahua puppy killed when thrown from 5th floor apartment

A woman has been charged with animal abuse after she allegedly threw a Chihuahua puppy from her fifth floor apartment in Wang Thonglang district last night.

Animal rights organization Watchdog Thailand demanded the police take action after the dog’s owner Maeyanee Sitthisuk, 23, posted horrific photos of her dead puppy, “Deli,” on Facebook. The post has upset many netizens and animal lovers.

In the police complaint, which Maeyanee shared online, the puppy owner said she and her new roommate Yonlada Jampasi, 22, — a transgender woman — went out to an entertainment complex together last night, but Yonlada went home first.

After Maeyanee returned home, she found that the roommate had locked her out. She then found her beloved Chihuahua puppy dead on the roof of the apartment’s second floor.

The puppy had apparently been killed after being thrown from the apartment window. Maeyanee said Yonlada had only moved in with her 10 days ago.

Police suspect Yonlada may have been on drugs when she allegedly threw the dog out of the window.

Police initially charged Yonlanda with malicious damage but later added an animal abuse charge after being contacted by Watchdog Thailand.

The suspect will be called in for questioning as the police investigation continues.

RIP, Deli.
