A panda flash mob touring the world will finally arrive in Bangkok next month as an exhibition of the sculptures will be held at Central Embassy.
Starting on March 4, “1600 Pandas” by French artist Paulo Grangeon will travel through iconic locations in Bangkok and Ayutthaya provinces for one day each, beginning with Sanam Luang, the field overlooking Wat Phra Kaew.
The pandas will then proceed to CentralWorld, BTS Chong Nonsi, Bangkok Art and Cultural Center, Santi Chai Prakarn Park, The Giant Swing, Lumpini Park, Hua Lamphong train station, and the Golden Mount Temple at Ayutthaya before they will be exhibited for two weeks at Central Embassy.
The organizer has also opened votes on Facebook asking the public to pick one more location in Thailand for the panda mob.
Sponsored by wildlife charity WWF, the one-of-a-kind 1,600 panda paper sculptures have been exhibited across the globe since 2008 to highlight the importance of wildlife conservation and sustainability.
The panda sculptures represents the 1,600 pandas left living in the wild.
