Chill out: Cool weather coming to Bangkok this weekend

It’s time for Bangkokians to throw on extra layers as cool weather is coming to the city this weekend.

A strong cold spell from China will cross over the upper part of Thailand tonight until Saturday, causing temperatures to drop by 3-6 degrees Celsius this weekend, Thai PBS reported.

Minimum temperatures will be around 21-23 degrees Celsius, with maximum temperatures reaching 32-33 degrees Celsius, according to the Thai Meteorological Department.

The cold spell will also cause temperatures in the North, East and Central parts of Thailand to drop by 3-6 degrees, while the Northeast will experience a drop of 4-8 degrees.

Isolated thundershowers are also expected in Bangkok, as well as the North, East and Central regions.

The northeast monsoon across the Gulf and the South of Thailand will also pick up in strength, creating high waves of 2-4 metres in the lower Gulf, from southern Chumpon province onwards.
