Don Mueang airport can now handle 30 million passengers

Following renovations, Don Mueang International Airport can now accommodate 30 million passengers annually.

Bangkok’s hub for low-cost airlines will be able to take on 12 extra million passengers per year now that a second phase of a development project is now complete.

This included improvements to Terminal 2, three concourses, a southern walkway and toilet facilities.

A third phase costing THB10 billion will focuse on renovating and transforming the old domestic terminal into a new passenger terminal.

Improvements will include a new walkway connecting the building to a new sky train station, and a new car park building that can accommodate around 3,000 cars.

Airports of Thailand President Nitinai Sirismatthakarn said this would increase the airport’s capacity to accommodate up to 40 million passengers annually.
