Wicked weekend: Kolour hits it outta the park (VIDEO + PHOTOS)

Kolour in the Park just took Bangkok’s music scene to a new techno-tastic level with the Weekender edition of the electronic music festival. Each day of the two day fest was full of happy, shiny people, dancing to top DJs and living it up in Bangkok’s great outdoors.

This was the second installment of Kolour in the Park, and the first time the music festival took over Thai Wake Park for two full days. Saturday and Sunday were both huge hits, with cold beer flowing, people vibing to the music and sporting some of the coolest festival gear in town.

Kolour is making a name for itself as Bangkok’s coolest techno music festival and attracting some exciting names in music. DJ sets by Bangkok-based and international DJs were everything the crowd could ask for and special headliners Oliver Koletezki and Booka Shade made each day even more special.

Chill music sets during the day ramped up as the sun went down. Some of the most memorable moments were Nakadia, back with her upbeat, engaging and unforgettable dance beats and another DJ bringing the feminine energy, Mendy Indigo, who could make anyone fall in love with electronic music.

Local Bangkok-based DJs Coran and Koish both put on great sets that kept the crowd on their feet for hours. Slomororo’s mellow tunes were another great addition to the lineup. The weekend ended with a bang Sunday night as Booka Shade took to the decks. The crowd couldn’t get enough of the energetic performance – it was easily the highlight of the weekend.

With its second round, Kolour is right up there at the top of Bangkok (and Asia’s) music scene, and that’s something to get excited about. The Kolour Krew exude a passion for techno music, which is new but growing like crazy here in Bangkok. That passion came through in everything from the music to the decor to the glowing smiles on people’s faces. Even for techno newbies the festival was an amazing experience with great vibes and memorable experiences.

We’re sure that everyone is reminiscing about the great times they had at Kolour in the Park Weekender and looking forward to next year’s party. Check out more shots of Kolour in the Park Weekender on the official Singha page here and here.
