Public transport drivers to receive ‘Better Driving through Thainess’ training

Ever wondered how the government could improve the bad driving habits of public transport drivers? Well the Culture Ministry has the answer with its “Better Driving through Thainess” campaign.

The ministry will train 600 drivers on how to apply Thai cultural values to their work.

Deputy Prime Minister Gen. Thanasak Patimaprakorn launched the campaign, which began with a training session called “Smiles on Every Thai Road.”

The project aims to increase safety on Thai roads by encouraging classic Thai values.

The campaign also aims to improve the driving skills of the participants and show them how to behave in a courteous manner when driving.

And as an added incentive, exemplary public transport drivers will receive stickers, but the ministry didn’t say what kind of stickers the drivers would get.

The 600 drivers have also been invited to a midnight prayer on April 12 to symbolize the beginning of their new driving habits, reported NNT.
