Hi-tech cheating: Medical school candidates have answers sent to their smart watches

Three students ruined their chances of getting into medical school on Saturday after they were busted with what the university’s rector described as the most advanced exam cheating system ever.

Rangsit University’s rector Arthit Ourairat said one person was hired to take the exam while wearing wireless camera glasses to livestream the exam questions back to the “headquarter,” where a group of people then sent the answers to the three candidates’ smartwatches.

Wow.

“This was the most high-tech exam cheating system I’ve ever seen,” Arthit told Manager.

The three students and their helper, whose identities have been withheld, were caught when the instructors noticed that their glasses were unusually thick. And upon further inspection, they found a hidden camera in the glasses’ arms.

The three students were disqualified from enrolling at the university. They reportedly paid as much as THB50,000 to get the answers. They would have had to pay THB800,000 more if the university had accepted them, according to Post Today.

The exam, which was held on Saturday and Sunday, was taken by over 3,000 students for 130 spots.

Following the scandal, the university has rescheduled all the tests held over the weekend as it is believed more people were involved in the cheating.

All students need to retake their exam on May 31 and June 1, and all accessories will be banned.

Looks like the hi-tech anti-cheating helmet no longer works.
