RIP: Social media star ‘Sexy Pancake’ passes away at 27

It’s a sad day for fans of Sexy Pancake, aka Niwat Sangmor, a transgender internet star who passed away on Saturday evening of Stage 3 penile cancer, according to Thai PBS.

Pancake rose to internet fame three years ago after posting hilarious and suggestive pictures of her life in rural Isan. Known more for her humor and wild ways than for her beauty, she was beloved by fans and her Facebook page boasts almost a half-million likes.

She often appeared at events, in ladyboy dance shows and on television.

Pancake was being treated at Khon Kaen Hospital, where she was admitted before Songkran. More recently, she was brought back to her rural home by her parents in an attempt to grant her final wish to die at home.

In the end, they had to admit her to their local Waeng Noi district hospital, where she passed on peacefully.

Though it’s reported that Pancake had undergone surgery to have her penis removed, the cancer may have still remained and spread.

Penile cancer amongst the male-to-female transgender population might be related to the practice of “tabbing,” or taping the genitals back between the legs for long periods of time in order to present as female in skimpy women’s clothing, according to a report in the Bangkok Post.

No matter what caused her illness, we’ll miss Sexy Pancake and her adorable, hilarious antics.
