Man stabbed to death near MRT Lat Phrao in alleged motorcycle robbery

A 33-year-old engineer was stabbed to death last night in a crowded area near MRT Lat Phrao.  Police believe that the attack was an attempted motorcycle robbery.

According to witnesses, Nares Wangtangmee, a systems engineer, was sitting on his motorcycle on Lad Phrao Road, between Soi 23 and 25, waiting for his girlfriend. Video footage shows that a man approached Nares from behind, came around quickly and stabbed him in the chest before pushing him off of his motorcycle.

In the footage of the incident, which circulated online last night, Nares was trying to get a hold of his motorcycle as the attacker tried to escape on it. A samaritan in a blue shirt kicked and pushed the attacker off of the motorcycle. The attacker escaped on foot.

Police believe the attack was a robbery. The investigation is ongoing, Daily News reported.
