The third annual Latin Food Festival will take place tomorrow afternoon in a cafe in Soi Sala Daeng. Ceresia Coffee Roasters hosts chefs with pop-up stands from Venezuela, Ecuador, Mexico, Spain and Peru.
Available will be:
Venezuelan food from Chef Carmen Rawstron and Chef Cecilia Egan. They will offer:
Papelon con Limon: a drink made of sugar cane juice, lemon and water.
Caraotas Negras: Traditional Venezuelan black beans.
Torta tres leches: traditional Venezuelan milk cake
Pan de a Locha: Molasses sweet bread
Pabellón: Venezuela’s national dish made of long grain rice, shredded beef, fried plantains and stewed black beans.
Ecuadorean food from Chef Carla Soledad Rivera of Carla’s Cocina. She will offer:
Hallaca: green plantain patties with cheese
A vegetarian mushroom dish
Mexican food from Donaya and Abel Coutino of El Mariachi Taquería. They will offer:
Quesadillas and tacos filled with chicken, Al Pastor (pork) or Barbacoa (beef), Pico de gallo and sour cream, onion, cilantro and lime.
Chile Relleno: Egg battered chili stuffed with chicken, potatoes and cheese served with homemade salsa.
Spanish food from Chef Kannika, of Taburete. They will offer:
Montadito de pringá: Pork and chicken stew Sandwich (Andalusian style).
Spanish iberico ham and bread with tomato.
Peruvian food from Shirley, of Sabores. She will offer:
Ceviche de Pescado: Raw fish marinated with lemon juice, Red Onions, Cilantro & Red Chili with
Causa Rellena: Mashed Potatoes cake filled with chicken, bacon & avocado, and secret recipe yellow hot pepper & lime, topped in Huancaína sauce.
The food will be accompanied by Latin American music and coffee.
