Bangkok teacher accused of having sex with his students, posting clips on Twitter

A male teacher at the country’s high-profile, all-boys school Suankularb Wittayalai has been transferred after he was accused of having sexual relations with his students and posting videos of them together on Twitter.

The videos prompted an investigation on the science teacher Sarot Meephai, who has been moved to the Educational Zone 1 main office, said Amnuay Chanhom, deputy director of Suankularb Wittayalai School yesterday.

A Twitter account, which was found to belong to Sarot, had videos of a man engaging in sexual relations with young boys with short public school haircuts. The man, however, blurred his face, according to Manager.

Sarot denied having sex with his students and posting sex videos on the internet. However, he admitted to having sex with young boys at his apartment in Pinklao, but said they are prostitutes he contacted online.

A panel has been set up to investigate the science teacher. No students have come forward that they have been abused by Sarot, according to Bangkok Post.

Amnuay described Sarot as a “well-behaved teacher” and said that Sarot has been teaching at Suankularb for two years and had not caused any trouble.

Amnuay said the story is a reminder that all teachers must be aware of themselves and act as an example for the children. He believes the scandal will not affect the school’s reputation because it is a “personal matter,” Nation TV reported.
