Cop guns down dead daughter’s boyfriend in middle of prosecution office

A police officer who suspected foul play in the death of his daughter allegedly used his on-duty weapon to shoot and kill her boyfriend at a public prosecution office in Nakhon Sri Thammarat province on Thursday.

Sub-Lt. Damri Paeyai reportedly blamed the man, Sathit, for driving a motorbike his daughter fell off, causing her death, in March. The 26-year-old was in the prosecution office charged with reckless driving when Damri allegedly shot him.

He was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital, reported Thai PBS.

The officer turned himself in after the shooting. According to Pol. Col. Komsant Prueksavanich, the superintendent of Thung Song police, Damri shot Sathit out of anger because he blamed the young man for his daughter’s death.

Earlier this year, the officer reportedly told his superior that he had given consent for Sathit to propose to his daughter, but the two fell out after Damri found out that Sathit was already a married man with children.

His daughter is reported to have fallen from the bike after quarreling with her boyfriend.
