The Deputy Commander of the Tourist Police Division Pol Col Nithithorn Chintakanon said that he hopes to build up confidence in the area with tourists.

He said that the Tourist Police will continue to perform random checks of bars and nightclubs to try to keep similar events from occurring, reported National News Bureau of Thailand.

In the incident, which happened at about 1am on Wednesday morning, bar bouncers denied entry to four British tourists because they were already intoxicated and carrying drinks from another establishment.

The four tourists each received THB10,000 from the bar.The two men who were injured in the incident were named as Armando Rodriguez and Shaun Angfreet.
