Since the ‘catchers of Pokémon catchers’ were sent out yesterday, they have already succeeded in catching at least 42 people. This campaign was started in order to help prevent further accidents caused by careless players who drive/walk around catching Pokémons in 10 busy Bangkok areas.
The 10 roads that are being monitored includes Sukhumvit, Phaya Thai, Rama I, Rama IV, Henri Dunant, Sathon, Phetchaburi, Phahon Yothin, Vibhavadi Rangsit, as well as the street circling Victory Monument.
The 42 players were caught driving and catching Pokémons, each of them earning a THB1,000 fine for violating the Land Transport Act which bans the use of mobile phones while driving (unless using the proper equipment).
So far, first prize goes to Sukhumvit Road, where the police have caught 18 people. Second goes to Rama IV road with 9 people, and third place goes to Yaowarat with 4 people, Nation TV reported.
