Ross Anthony Mobbs from New Zealand fell to his death from the fourth floor of the Chillax Resort near Khao San Road. The police have ruled it as accidental since there was no evidence that suggests otherwise.
Mobbs was sharing a room with his friend, whose girlfriend was staying in the room next to theirs. According to the police, Mobbs had left his room to go visit the girlfriend and attempted to return via balcony late Monday night.
Mobbs was already intoxicated when he was climbing, but it was due to the wooden railway breaking that caused him to fall over, reported Khaosod.
Mobbs was employed at the University of Otago affiliated Salmond College and Knox College, where he was seen as a great co-worker to all, according to Stuff.
