Thai man flies to Sydney, waits in rain for 19 hours to buy iPhone 7

Tech blogger Attapon Thaphaengphan proved his loyalty to Apple by flying from Bangkok to Sydney and waiting in the cold and rain to get in line for the iPhone 7.

The 30-year-old owner of iPhoneMod blog made headlines in international newspaper as he documented his journey to become among the first people to own the latest iPhone on Facebook. The Thai man reportedly camped outside the Apple’s flagship store on George St. for 19 hours and waited for the iPhone launch on Friday.

Although he wasn’t the the first in line, Attapon was in a pretty good spot, and was able to walk out with both iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. For the iPhone 7 Plus, he was able to pre-order with the Sydney store, Daily Mail reported.

“After nineteen hours of waiting, the new iPhone 7 is here!” he wrote on Facebook. Looks like Attapon celebrated his new gadgets with a freshly brewed cup of coffee.

Attapon said this was his second year making an iPhone trip to another continent. He also traveled to Sydney last year to buy the iPhone 6s to make sure he was the first to review the new iPhone for his fans.

This year he received sponsorship for his trip.

While people might jump to the conclusion that Attapon must have a bunch of money lying around for him to get new gadgets, he said he didn’t grow up in a wealthy family.

“For those who don’t know, I’d like to tell you that my family are farmers, and I never feel sorry that I never had much [money] in the beginning.”

Attapon has been a blogger for seven years and written one book. Before that, he worked for Dell for four years. He believes his review will provide all the information that hardcore Apple fans want to know.
