Thai wife claims farang husband stole THB100 million from her while she was treated for cancer

A 53-year-old Thai woman is seeking justice after her Danish husband allegedly transferred THB100 million worth of her company shares while she was being treated for cancer at the hospital.

Tiamchan Hanlakorn and her family held signs to protest in front of the Ministry of Commerce yesterday, demanding Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha give her justice.

One of the signs said: “Danish farang bullied a Thai woman.”

According to Tiamchan, seven years ago, she was cheated out of THB100 million by her 63-year old Danish husband, Per Viggo Helling, who was also a partner in her company, Dan Thailand and Property Ltd. in Koh Samui.

She said that her husband stole her 51 percent of the company shares while she was hospitalized for three months to treat uterine cancer. He even kicked her out of their house and posted a sign saying that she was no longer associated with the company.

After some investigation, the police told her that her shares now belong to someone else, even though she never signed anything.

They went to court, their case lasting for 7 years until finally, they made a decision, saying that all of her stocks will be returned to her. She was given a court order to hand to the Registrar of Commerce in order to correct the name of the stock owner, and reinstate her with her company.

Unfortunately, she was later told that they were not able to give her back her stocks or her title. Left with no other choice, she turned to the prime minister, hoping that he could help her, reported Daily News.
