Thai woman claims she was randomly stabbed with needle at South Korean train station

For anyone who’s thinking about visiting the land of K-pop for a little vacation, a little friendly warning might be needed.

A Thai woman who was visiting South Korea with some friends shared a story of her recent attack online, claiming she was stabbed in her back with a needle by an “old Korean lady,” who then proceeded to run away.

In the story, shared on Facebook page All About Korea, the victim talked about her weird experience and warned others who plant to visit South Korea on vacation.

The victim said she was waiting for the elevator at Seoul Station at around 4:55am on Friday, when a lady came to stand behind her.

When the elevator door opened, she began to walk in when she felt a sudden push from behind and a sharp stab of pain on her back. Her first thought was that it was an attempted robbery, but then saw the needle that was dropped lying next to her feet. The old lady was already walking away.

The Thai woman filed a complaint with the police in Seoul. In the end, she decided to catch her flight and flew back to Bangkok on the same day. After that, she went to the hospital and received a shot against HIV. The needle used as an attack weapon was empty, however, so nothing was injected into her body.

As of this moment, the victim is safe, and the Korean police have not caught the perpetrator yet. The reason behind the attack remains unknown.

The admin of All About Korea ended the post saying, “I’m not saying that you should cancel your plans to go visit Korea, but just be more cautious. That applies to your time in Thailand as well. Things like this are always so unexpected that we can’t predict that it’s going to happen, since we have both good and bad people in society. We won’t be able to tell if the person standing next to us is actually a good person. Take care of yourself, and be careful. It’s getting harder and harder to live in our world with each passing day. ”
