Rumor: iPhone 7 to launch in Thailand earlier than we expected

It is rumored that the iPhone 7 will launch in Thailand on Oct. 21, ten days earlier than the release dates of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s, which both launched on Oct. 31 of previous years.

According to tech blog Siampod, a source said that mobile operators in Thailand will start selling the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus on the aforementioned date, but the information has not been confirmed by Apple.

The iPhone 7, which sparked controversy due to Apple’s decision to kill the headphone jack, was sold in the first 28 countries on Sept. 16. Among those in the first wave of releases were Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore.

The latest iPhone was launched in 30 more countries, including European and Middle Eastern nations, on Saturday.

Thailand is usually listed in the third-phase launch, but many people are willing to pay more for an imported phone at MBK despite the ridiculously high price.

Currently, the iPhone 7 Plus in the new Jet Black color is the most expensive model bound for the Thai market. The price is jacked up as high as THB63,000 for an iPhone 7 Plus and THB54,500 for an iPhone 7, according to Thai Mobile Center.
