That’s nuts! Suspected bomb in Pattani turns out to be a coconut

A mysterious black bag was found in front of Bantaladnadklongkul School this morning at 7:30am. The school director, not wanting to take any chances in the conflict-ridden Deep South, contacted Pattani’s Special Unit officers who sent out their bomb squad.

The specially-trained officers approached the suspicious bag and poked it with a long stick but, what they found inside wasn’t dangerous at all, reported Khaosod English.

The bag contained a mound of sand with a juicy, half-kilogram coconut inside.

The bomb squad said that the suspicious bag was, most likely, left there as a prank but that they can’t be too careful.

Officers in that region are always on high alert for all kinds of explosives and bombs have been left in coconuts before.
