One year mourning period announced for passing of HM the King

The government has directed government offices to fly their flags at half-mast for 30 days and that civil servants should wear mourning clothes for a year to mourn the passing of HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

The government released a statement following HM the King’s passing, saying government offices will fly their flags at half-mast for 30 days starting tomorrow. Civil servants, state enterprise employees and government employees will wear mourning clothes starting tomorrow as well, reported Thai News Bureau.

The general public are suggested to mourn as they feel appropriate.
HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej passed away peacefully this afternoon at Siriraj Hospital. He was 88 years old.
