Donald Trump a ‘racist’ who ‘doesn’t like Russians’ says former Miss Universe Natalie Glebova

A Russian-Canadian former Miss Universe winner took to Facebook last year to call current Republican nominee for US President Donald Trump “a racist” who “doesn’t like Russians.”

“Yes, he IS a racist! First time I met him, first thing he told me is he doesn’t like Russians and said last Russian Miss Universe they had, he fired her. Nice too meet you!” Glebova responded to a Facebook comment on her official Facebook page in July, 2015.

Trump’s ties to Russia have been repeatedly brought up and questioned in the 2016 presidential campaign.

He has said that he admires Russian President Vladimir Putin several times over the course of the campaign and most recently was accused of being Putin’s “puppet” by Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

In that debate, Trump denied ever meeting Putin, saying  “I don’t know Putin. I have no idea. I never met Putin.”

But in a 2013 interview, Trump said, “I do know him [Putin]. He’s done an amazing job.”

Glebova was crowned Miss Universe in 2005 — the year that Bangkok hosted the competition. She became widely famous in the country as an adorable beauty queen who does the wai a lot. She liked the country so much, she stayed here. Glebova became an ambassador for Singha Corp in 2006. A year later, she married Paradorn Srichaphan, a Thai pro tennis player also known for his skills with women. The couple separated three years later.

Glebova has since lived and worked in Bangkok as brand ambassador for both corporations and charitable organizations. She was spotted deejaying at hi-so nightspot KU DÉ TA last year.

Glebova continued to say she wasn’t “treated well” by Trump but she stood by the Miss Universe organization and wished them success.

Last year, Glebova spoke out on Facebook against Trump to encourage fans to sign a petition called #SaveTheSash, an initiative to convince NBC to air the Miss USA 2015 pageant after the network had decided to drop the show along with its owner, because of “derogatory statements” he made during his presidential campaign.

“Let’s all help save the pageants! I want to see this tradition continue and be televised for years and years to come. Don’t let NBC take it away because of one person’s hateful words and statements. I hope D. Trump apologizes and takes back his words. He’s hurting millions of people and ruining what MUO [Miss Universe Organization] stands for! I support MUO and grateful for the experience I had, and want to see it succeed. But I DO NOT support racist comments of its owner,” Glebova posted on Facebook.

NBC axed the pageant from their airing schedule after Trump described Mexican immigrants as “bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime, they’re rapists, and some, I assume, are good people,” according to Fox News.

Coconuts reached out to Natalie Glebova for comment three times, but our request was denied with her representative giving the reason that they would like “to avoid political involvement on this ka.”

Although Glebova’s fame and hundreds of brand ambassadorships are largely owed to the crown she won 11 years ago, as one of her fans pointed out, the beauty queen insisted she “owed him nothing.”

Another commenter simply told her not to speak for Mexican immigrants.

Trump was forced to sell the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) in September, 2015, when it lost all airing deals because of his involvement. He owned the organization, in at least some percentage, for two decades and often spoke of his disturbing interactions with beauty queens. While Glebova, being a former Miss Universe winner, has refused to elaborate on her interactions with Trump, others have spoken about how the presidential candidate had walked in on them while naked.

“I remember putting on my dress really quick because I was like, ‘Oh my god, there’s a man in here,’” Mariah Billado, the former Miss Vermont Teen USA told Buzzfeed.

Four women who competed in the 1997 Miss Teen USA, whose identities have been withheld, also said Trump walked into the dressing room while contestants — some as young as 15 — were changing.

Billado recalled Trump saying something along the lines of, “Don’t worry, ladies, I’ve seen it all before.”

According to CNN, Trump has also joked about it being his obligation to sleep with pageant contestants and how he was allowed to walk freely into their dressing room because he was the owner.

“Well, I’ll tell you the funniest is that before a show, I’ll go backstage and everyone’s getting dressed, and everything else, and you know, no men are anywhere, and I’m allowed to go in because I’m the owner of the pageant and therefore I’m inspecting it,” Trump said in an interview on The Howard Stern Show.

“You know, they’re standing there with no clothes. ‘Is everybody okay?’ And you see these incredible looking women, and so, I sort of get away with things like that” he said.

We imagine that very few of these former pageant contestants would vote for Trump in the presidential elections next month. However, if Trump himself could comment himself, he’s likely point out that very few of them, including Glebova, are U.S. citizens and couldn’t vote in the election anyway. Although he’d probably say it in a much more foul way.
