MRT train stopped this morning, official blames emergency door release pulled by rider

This morning, an MRT train headed to Hua Lamphong was stopped for an extended period at 8:09am at Thailand Cultural Center station after someone decided to pull the lever of the emergency door, causing long delays for thousands of commuters this morning.

MRT officials did not release the cause of the delay and users were kept waiting for well over 15 minutes and several stations, reported Thai PBS.

It was not immediately known what caused one of its MRT train to malfunction, but the train riders who were not aware of the service disruption kept arriving at stations, waiting for over 15 minutes to board the trains.

Details about any possible punishment for the person that pulled the lever, whether they did it on purpose or whether MRT officials even know which rider pulled it were not released.
