Government groups in Phetchaburi province have jointly opened a drug rehabilitation camp in Muang District.
The rehab camp, called Khwan Phaen Din, is a collaborative project of the Narcotics Control Board and different agencies. The project is aimed at giving a new lease on life to drug users wishing to kick the habit. Vice Governor Nattawut Petpromsorn presided over the camp’s opening ceremony.
Suthin Prasertsak, deputy chief of Drug Prevention And Suppression Office of Phetchaburi said the government plans to integrate the Pracharat policy into the anti-drug campaign by promoting community participation to build a drug-free society.
Lopburi plans to organize seven rehab camps in the fiscal year 2017, enrolling a batch of 100 participants at a time. Rehab clients are to engage in physical exercise, religious practices, psychological consultation and vocational training offered by multidisciplinary teams, reported Thai News Bureau.
The camp, which opened on Nov. 17 is the first of the fiscal year 2017. the first session will go until Nov. 28. A total of 118 rehab clients are taking part in the organized drug withdrawal.
