Pattaya-Hua Hin ferry service to launch in January

The ferry service connecting two popular vacation spots, Pattaya and Hua Hin, will launch on New Year’s Day, but the free trial is scheduled to start at the end of December.

A project that will come to life much earlier than planned, the Pattaya-Hua Hin ferry service will run from Pattaya’s Bali Hai pier to Hua Hin’s Saphan Pla. The journey takes only one and a half hours as it goes straight across the Gulf of Thailand, compared to a five-hour journey on the road.

Royal Passenger Liner Co., the ferry operator, has proposed a ticket price of THB1,200 per passenger per one-way journey to the Marine Department, however, the organization is still finalizing it, according to Director Sorasak Saensombat.

The free trial will begin one week prior to the launch date for 2-3 days. While the dates where you can catch a free ride have not been announced, they plan to have two test runs per day, leaving Hua Hin at 8:30am and returning at 15:30pm.

Royal Passenger Liner will launch their service with one ferry, which can hold up to 150 passengers, but it will add a second boat if they receive great feedback and demand, Manager reported.
