What do you know about Thanksgiving? The American holiday, which basically celebrates British settlers stealing the land of Native Americans, has grim origins but has resulted in a happy, fat feast for Americans across their country and across the world.

Think turkey, family, friends, football on the TV, stretchy pants, one person getting obnoxiously drunk and everyone passed out on the sofa in a food coma by 5pm.

If you want to pig out on turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole and all the other traditional dishes at a restaurant, there are many Bangkok establishments serving it up tonight.
Here are some of our faves:
Bunker (Sathorn)
Roadhouse (Silom)
Chomp (Old Town)
This is the place to go if you have vegetarians in your Thanksgiving party since they have included many veggie-friendly dishes on their menu.
The main course is traditional slow-roasted turkey for meat-eaters and barbequed vegan duck for vegetarians.
Not only is the menu varied, it’s also really inexpensive. The all-your-can-eat buffet is THB450 and only THB650 if you want to add some seasonal booze to your dinner (namely, mulled wine and pumpkin spice martinis).
Sunrise Tacos (Asoke, Silom, Nana locations)
Surprisingly, Sunrise Tacos offers up a good Thanksgiving meal to eat in or take home. For THB695 you can have turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, apple walnut stuffing, vegetables, Caesar Salad, dinner rolls and apple, pumpkin, cherry or pecan pie.
