Daughter’s coloring homework came with info request form for insurance company, says parent

Sometimes parents are required to help with their kids’ homework, but a father in Chantaburi would have had to give away his financial information to complete his daughter’s coloring homework on Tuesday.

The Chantaburi dad shared a snapshot of his daughter’s homework online after he found out it came with a section that requests parent’s financial information, with a note from the teacher that said: “Let your parents fill this in.”

The homework was stamped with the logo of Krung Thai AXA insurance company and asked questions such as: “How do you plan to pay for your child’s education?” and “How much can you save per month for your child’s education?”

The father, who goes by Pittaya Pop Sattaboon on Facebook, wrote: “Yesterday a coloring homework has this Krung Thai AXA logo, so I didn’t let my little girl do it and crossed it out. I wrote a letter to the teacher to explain why I didn’t let her do the homework (I explained nicely, no insult.)”

“Insurance is now trying to collect data by disguising it as homework,” he wrote.

Concerned parents started a discussion about the homework on Pantip, and some members said they have found similar tricks in their children’s homework.

Krung Thai AXA responded to a thread on Pantip, saying that the company does not have a policy nor do they support such requests for personal information.

“The company has launched an investigation to find the person responsible for the incident,” the statement said.

Famous internet personality Princess of Andaman wrote in the discussion that parents of at least five provinces including Bangkok have reported that they have also been asked for personal information via their children’s homework.
