‘Keep on the Grass’ at Thailand’s premier folk music fest

If you prefer the DIY vibe of the local indie scene over the flashy production of loud EDM festivals, check out Keep on the Grass, a folk and indie music festival scheduled to happen in January in Saraburi.

Keep on the Grass features local indie artists like reggae heavyweights Sriracha Rockers, The Front Row, Yena, Desktop Error, Matthew Fisher, Flower Dog and other bands that will play the unplugged versions of their songs.

For foreigners, perhaps the most familiar name in the line up is Rasmee, the Isaan-born singer who has been taking the world of soul and jazz by storm. Her Morlam singing style fuses jazz, R&B and funk, creating a new style she has called Isaan Soul.

World music multi-instrumentalists Yaan are also sure to please with their psychedelic vibes and way-out sitar riffs.

Enjoy the serene nature of Muaklek, Saraburi, lay on the grass and let the folk music help you float away under the smoky night sky on Jan. 14.

Purchase early birds tickets for THB1,200 before Saturday or the price will increase to THB1,500. See how to purchase tickets on their Facebook page.
