Fresh from the net: Regional fishermen deliver fresh seafood to Thong Lor

For the third time, Fisherfolk and Oxfam will bring the freshest seafood straight from fishing nets to the former Root Garden in Thong Lor.

Local fishermen from Prachuap Khiri Khan, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Satun, Sonkhla, and Trat will be offering varieties of fish and shellfish fresh from their seaside hometowns.

Visitors can purchase fresh, chemical-free seafood to support local fisheries. At the event, try grilled fish and shrimp, spicy shellfish, and Kanom Jin Namya Pu or rice noodles with crabmeat sauce. Kids can join an okonomiyaki workshop and anyone have a chance to win prizes in several games such as guessing a fish’s weight.

The stage will be occupied by a cooking workshop, live music and educational talks. For movie lovers, come see “Tsukiji Wonderland,” a documentary that will bring you to the world’s largest fish market in Japan. The documentary will play on Dec. 17 at 5.30 pm.

Fisherfolk in Bangkok will be held on Dec. 17- 18 from 9am – 6pm.
