In a repeat of a successful measure put in place at the holidays last year, the licenses and cars of those caught drunk driving over the New Year’s holidays will be taken away temporarily.
The measure is meant to curb road accidents over the holidays.
Over the last New Year’s holiday, 1,020 cars and 3,032 motorcycles were taken from drunk motorists from Dec. 25 to Jan. 3, reported Bangkok Post.
A total of 4,052 licenses would have also been seized over that period.
