Most Convenient: Now one 7-Eleven even has a banking kiosk with a live teller

CIMB has just opened a banking kiosk inside of a  7-Eleven store — the first convenience store bank in Thailand.

Adisorn Sermchaiwong, a Vice President at CIMB, explained yesterday that the tiniest bank branch will have just one staff member but will provide full services including: opening an account, cash deposits of THB30,000 or less and currency exchange of THB30,000 or less.

He also noted that the tiny bank could perform credit checks and personal credit approval with an ID card, reported Thai PBS.

The tiny new bank was opened at 7-Eleven’s Seetabut branch, located opposite to Seetabut Bamrung School in Hua Lamphong area.

If the branch is successful, we imagine that both CIMB and the other large Thai banks will expand into these super convenient banking locations as well.
