Those opposed to the new Computer Crime Act, which was unanimously passed on Friday, are threatening to start a cyber war against the government if those in power refuse to reconsider the restrictive new act.
In fact, they may have already been successful to a small extent, since the Defense Ministry’s website went offline this afternoon for a short time, reported Bangkok Post.
The opponents are opposed to both the Computer Crime Act and the looming threat of the single gateway. They were particularly unhappy last week when the government went ahead with their vote on the act despite having a petition delivered to them bearing the online signatures of 360,000, reported Thai PBS.
The group announced that they would start their cyber war in earnest tomorrow if the government does not address the issue.
