Police superintendent’s love rival found buried in cement

A 28-year-old woman, who was involved with the female love interest of a Ratchaburi police superintendent, was found buried in cement behind a resort in Kanchanaburi province last night.

The body of Supaksorn “Ying” Polthaisong was found buried at abandoned resort Baan Sita Na Ing Na following a tip provided by a male suspect in the case. Supaksorn was reported missing after she was allegedly abducted from her apartment on Dec. 13 in Bangkok’s Nong Khaem District. Investigating police issued arrest warrants for seven suspects, among them was Baan Pong Police Chief Col. Amnuay Pongsawat, 58.

Also wanted on charges related to the case are Niwat Suaythong, 32; Phumithat Phiboonsawat, 24; Chaiyuth Benchat, 41; Panumet Meela, 34; Samart Saengsin, 50; and Amnuay’s love interest, Kannikar Krumram, 38.

Pol. Col. Amnuay, 58, denied killing Supaksorn. He only admitted to abducting the victim and “smacking her on the head to teach her a lesson” because he was upset that Supaksorn was involved with his love interest Kannikar. Amnuay also alleged that Kannikar lent the deceased THB4 million cash and that the money belonged to him.

Last night, one of the suspects that took part in the abduction, Niwat, led police to the resort where they discovered Supaksorn’s body. Niwat accused Samart, a former policeman, of killing and burying Supasorn behind the resort, Khaosod reported.

Meanwhile, Phumithat surrendered to police yesterday and confessed to joining Niwat and two military men, Chaiyuth and Panumet, in the abduction of Supaksorn.

Love interest Kannikar was arrested yesterday afternoon in Buriram. She will be sent to Bangkok for interrogation.

All seven suspects will appear in court on Friday. They all face charges of illegal detention, premeditated murder and disposing of a body to conceal a crime.

Amnuay faces an additional charge of hiring others to coerce the victim, while the other six are charged with conspiring to coerce the victim, The Nation reported.
