Wonderfruit is more than just a festival, it’s an immersive experience that gets larger in scale and scope each year. For the third installation, happening Feb. 16-19, the ground-breaking, globally-conscious live celebration of art, music and life reveals even more to see and explore at The Fields at Siam Country Club. Dubbed an “experiential playground,” the organizers have lined up entertainment from around the globe that packs in so many new ideas, you might just forget that Bangkok is a mere two hours away.
Wonderers will delight in pavilions and stages scattered all around the field, as well as activities, shopping, eating, drinking, camping and chilling options galore.
The Solar Stage promises to be as much art installation as performance stage. The highest point on the grounds, it was built by Gregg Fleishman, known for his creations at Nevada’s Burning Man festival. This stage can also be climbed on order to watch the sunset or sunrise, whichever you prefer.
The diverse selection of bands and live acts will bring you through musical spectrums that last for four days of non-stop parties. You’ll wonder at heavy-beat bands like Rudimental, orchestral electronics from groups like Kate Simko & London Electronic Orchestra, and new wave synth sounds from Shura as well as over 60 performances by local and international artists.
The Quarry, Wonderfruit’s afterhours party destination, will be running again this year featuring genre-defying sounds by Simian Mobile Disco.
The Farm Stage is crafted of straw and organic matter and will be the place to be to see homegrown music acts from right here in Thailand. Acts like Buke and Gase and Srirajah Rockers will be setting up shop here.
Wonderers are also in for a treat as Forbidden Fruit, Wonderfruit’s first ever gay party, happens on Friday night. “Adam and Steve” features Thailand’s premier drag queen, Pangina Heals, who’ll delight revelers with her “waacking” dance performance.
Explore and be inspired by variety of over 30 innovative thinkers the festival has to offer including Madeleine Recknagel, a woman trying to live a zero-waste lifestyle in Bangkok who will share her experiences with listeners and teach them how to start their own zero-waste journey.
When you get hungry, there are over 55 gastronomic creators who will join forces to bring the most scrumptious experiences from the most luxurious, top-notch restaurants in Bangkok. Head over to Wonder Feasts to enjoy the endless choice of street food and gourmet bites.
As Wonderfruit is an eco-conscious festival, the carbon footprint created by the festival will be offset by a monetary investment in the Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve in Indonesia.
