Netizens say farang waiter serving Chinatown tourists is ‘genius’ (VIDEO)

Thai netizens showed their approval for a farang waiter at a boiled rice stall in Chinatown and admired the shop owner for the brilliant idea of hiring an English speaker to serve tourists.

A video of of the farang waiter serving tourists at a stall in Soi Plang Nam went viral on Facebook last night.

The poster wrote: “Hiring a farang to sell food to other farang customers. Genius idea!”

While the first thing that expats may think of when they see the video is “What about his work permit?” many Thai commenters on YouLike are in favor of the farang waiter.

“Good idea. They must have many foreign customers and cannot communicate with them, so they just hired a farang as a waiter!” Wuttinun Wonderkid wrote.

Another commenter, who claims she frequently visits the restaurant, said the farang told her he is in Thailand to study Thai, and by working at a boiled rice stall, he can practice his language skills and make money at the same time.

Previously, a video of a London lady selling Pad Thai on Khaosan Road also received much love from Thai netizens.
