Intern with Coconuts! Spend your summer in the world of digital media

Have you enjoyed reading Coconuts so much and wondered what our operation is like? Here is your chance. Coconuts will open our home in Chidlom to talented university students to learn first-hand about online journalism and digital marketing as our interns for the summer of 2017.

The deadline for applications is March 15. Successful candidates will be contacted by the end of March.

 

Editorial interns

Requirements

– This position is open to university students who are up-to-date with what’s happening in Bangkok. English and Communication Arts majors preferred.

– Thai nationality.

– Writing talent and a sarcastic wit.

– Unique hobbies and an interest in writing about them.

– A laptop. Basic photo editing and Google docs skills required.

– Independent, responsible and committed workers.

– Experience in photography, videography and Photoshop is a plus.

What’s in it for you:

– The opportunity to pitch, research and write your own stories under the guideline and supervision of our editors.

Marketing interns

Requirements

– This position is open to university students with an interest in marketing, advertising, copywriting, social media marketing or online publishing. Marketing and Communication Arts majors are preferred.

– Thai nationality.

– Sentient being with a laptop. Basic photo editing and Google docs skills required. Experience in photography, videography, Photoshop, Illustrator is a plus.

– Attention to detail, organizational skills and people skills are important.

– Independent, responsible, committed worker.

What’s in it for you:

– You’ll have the opportunity to work on marketing campaigns for Thai and international brands, help with Coconuts social media, organize events and much more.

Coconuts TV Production & Research Interns

Description

The Coconuts TV team is looking for a  Production and Research Intern based in Bangkok, Thailand. The intern will research, contact and schedule various story ideas determined by the team. In addition, the position will also aid in social media and minimal on site production assistance.

The intern will report to the head of Coconuts TV.

Responsibilities include:

  • Research documentary story ideas at team’s request
  • Make contacts and coordinate shoot schedule
  • Establish phone and email correspondence with potential story leads
  • Contribute story and production ideas
  • Occasionally assist with managing social media platforms and posting Coconuts TV content

Qualifications required:

  • Fluent in Thai and highly proficient in English
  • Highly interested in media/journalism/storytelling and SE Asia region
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Outlook
  • Familiar with social media platforms Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat

  • Current University student or graduate.
  • Face to face interview with Coconuts TV staff.

Internship Outline

The intern would be required to work 3-5 days a week in the Coconuts Media office in Bangkok, unpaid. Applicable to give school credit for work.
