Man crashes friend’s Lamborghini into pieces, miraculously uninjured

A man crashed a Lamborghini he borrowed from a friend into a palm tree in Lat Phrao Monday morning, basically wrecking the THB40 million car and possibly their friendship.

Driver Satirawat Kampiranon, 32, said he was hanging out with friends at a restaurant on Ram Intra – Ekkamai Expressway on Sunday night. About 3am on the next day, he borrowed the black Lamborghini Murciélago from his property tycoon friend, At-asira Khemklad, to drop his two friends off at their homes.

As he was going under a bridge on Praditmanutham Road, the car lost its balance and went off the road, clipping a passing motorcycle and crashing into a palm tree on the pavement.

The Italian sports car was left in pieces. The two passengers inside suffered from leg and arm injuries while the driver was miraculously uninjured.

The unfortunate teen couple on the motorcycle suffered from some bruises.

Pol. Capt. Damrongpol Panthanam, of Chokchai police station, said Satirawat tested negative for alcohol. He was charged with careless driving which led to the injuries of others and damage of public property.

Thairath reported that Satirawat is a building contractor, while the Lambo’s owner, At-asira Khemklad, has a real estate company. The 38-year-old businessman collects luxury cars, including the crashed Lamborghini Murciélago LP 670-4 (SV), which is one of only 350 ever produced and one of the only ten in Thailand.

The damage cost has not yet been revealed, but we don’t dare to think about how much cash is now owed.
