Yea, year-end lists are somewhat of a cop out. Instead of coming up with new stories, media outlets list the top ten or 20 or 100 stories/photos/songs/movies/etc year after year.
We don’t care. They’re popular and we don’t feel like doing real work over the holidays. So list haters: Look no further.
As always Coconuts Bangkok endeavors to spice things up, so our first list commemorating 2011 is a bit unconventional. That’s right, we’re listing the Top Ten Thailand Flood Dogs of 2011.
Coverage of the Great Thailand Floods of 2011 has generally focused on the loss of human life, displacement of people, and property damage. Lesser publicized was the fate of the many animals affected by the floodwaters.
We came across these critters on our many trips to flood zones for our Bangkok Flood Watch 2011 project, and were struck by their plight. Those looking to help with relief for flood-affected pooches can give to Soi Dog.
