S.A.S Olfa, a French toilet cover manufacturer, agreed to halt the production of a Lord Buddha-patterned toilet seat and to withdraw it from the market.
According to KnowingBuddha.org – an activist website that concerns itself with what should and should not be done to the Buddha – S.A.S. Olfa’s withdrawal comes as a response to a Change.org online petition started by Buddhist Por Nanthara.
In her petition, Por collected 7,833 signatures of concerned netizens and submitted them to the French Embassy in Thailand and S.A.S Olfa in Signy-Le-Petit in northern France.
